b. 1965. Studied Intellectual History & French at Sussex University 1983-87. Received an MA in Photography at the London College of Printing in 2001. PhD from Chelsea College of Art and Design, investigating nostalgia in Japanese landscape photography. Assistant Professor at Institute of Art and Design, Tsukuba University, Japan 2006-2010
